ABOUT THE POSTCARDS
Young illustrators Manuel Šumberac and Vibor Juhas designed, animated and programmed the illustrations that narrate episodes from Pula before the Great War, defying oblivion. Short, informative and accurate stories were written by Miljenko Jergović. The interactive picture book was created with the participation of Pula’s elementary schoolchildren who explored the history of Austro-Hungarian Pula, the zeitgeist and atmosphere of the time the action is set in. Graphically animated and told, this interactive picture book is in a certain way a time machine, a virtual guide by the peculiar admiral Gruss, a man from Pula in the know of countless curiosities, information and secrets of the forgotten city. The picture book is designed in a steampunk manner, with characters and background designed with retro-futurist elements. This highly educational book, resembling computer games in a way, will provide an entertaining reading of history to the young readers.
