Lidija Dimkovska was born in 1971 in Skopje, Macedonia, where she graduated in literature. She earned a PhD in Bucharest and lives in Ljubljana. The author of six poetry collections and three novels. Rezervni život and Skrivena kamera were translated into Croatia and Non Oui contains a Croatian plot line as well. “I set out into the world to become freer than I was. Macedonia did not stifle me, but nevertheless I lacked space there,” she says, calling herself a Macedonian writer because she “writes in Macedonian language.”
