Lulzim Haziri was born in 1962 in Rečan, Macedonia. He graduated in technical sciences in Priština, and lives and works in Gostivar as the executive director of an NGO. A poet and an essayist, his first steps in literature came with the collection Pjesma je rođena (1989), introducing urban refinement into the Albanian lyrical discourse. In his study about Albanian rock’n’roll he focuses on intersections between different musical experiences, and in the essay collection Crno i bijelo he examines political, cultural and social transformations. In 2017 in Skopje his book of poetry was published in Macedonian translation (Kada se ljubav troši kao kreda).
