Rumena Bužarovska was born in 1981 in Skopje, where she teaches American literature at the university. She translated from English (Bukowski, Capote), writes about literature (Što je smiješno: teorije humora primijenjene na kratku priču) and literature. Her short stories are based on defined characters, their predestined and social adaptation: “I love simple, unpretentious things and details that speak a lot about what people really feel and cannot admit publicly or to themselves. I love intimate stories fully dependent on structure and history of society. I love tragic stories with a pinch of humour.”
