Bojan Zulfikarpašić was born in 1968 in Belgrade, Serbia, and lives in Paris. He studied classical music. In 1986 he received an American scholarship and opted for jazz. A pianist, composer, arranger and producer, known also as Bojan Z, he attracted attention with his rich and eclectic repertory absorbing his folk culture, as well as his skilful performance style. He held over 2000 concerts across the world (European Jazz Prize, 2005) and released over 30 (10 solo) records. For his collaboration with Amira Medunjanin (the album Amulette) he says it is based respect for a musician who is “an example that one can have a successful career and stay true to oneself.”
