Ishay Landa
Ishay Landa was born in 1969 and graduated in history with a thesis on Nietzschean Heroism in Popular Culture from the University Ben Gurion in Be’er Sheva. A professor at the Israeli Open University in Ra’anana. In the books The Apprentice’s Sorcerer: Liberal Tradition and Fascismand The Roots of European Fascism, 1789–1945 he focuses on the conceptual roots of contemporary western societies, wondering if “many sacred principles could be critically re-examined – from individualism, to private property and economic freedom, to capitalism itself,” concluding that “such interpretation, which takes historical perspective into account as well, remains subversive and often does not affect the mainstream views.”
