Mate Janković was born in 1978. A chef and promoter of Croatian cuisine. He says his “favourite original meal is smoked oyster with pickled lamb tongue, slanuša and baškotina romatic bread from Pag,” although he personally “enjoys simple food the most,” like spaghetti with salsa. The author of the Hrvatska kuharica concept, a cookbook containing “over 150 recipes from finest Croatian chefs,” in whose foreword he says: “This generation has an important task: to define the direction of our gastronomy for the days to come.”
