Slobodan Tišma was born in 1946 in Stara Pazova, Serbia, and lives and works in Novi Sad. He studied in Novi Sad and Belgrade. In his youth he wrote poetry and pursued conceptual art (KOD group) and rock music (bands La strada and Luna). Author of the poetry collections Marinizmi, Vrt kao to and Pesme, story collection Urvidek, poetic journal Blues diary and the novels Quattro stagioni and Bernardijeva soba. “Apart from weaving poetry into rock’n’roll, he also painted his poetry and prose he published later with rock’n’roll. That way he made a strange sort of his own mythology,” said Brankica Drašković, the author of a documentary film on his life and work (Maske).
