The traditional programme Breakfast with the Author brings together, in the best possible way, the author, his literary work and the general readership. The Breakfast is the most popular Book Fair(y)'s programme with an extensive media coverage, beloved by the audience and always welcoming exciting guests and authors. In order to keep tradition alive, the programme will be held at the popular meeeting point that is the Mozart Café.

Until 2016 the Breakfast was hosted by Vojo Šiljak, followed by Aljoša Pužar in 2016. Some of the guest authors were Umberto Eco, Claudio Magris, Tess Gallagher, Orhan Pamuk, Dacia Maraini, Andrej Kurkov, Andrea de Carlo, Jiři Menzel, Péter Esterházy, Predrag Matvejević, Arsen Dedić, Zeruya Shalev.
