Darko Dukovski was born in 1960 in Pula, Croatia. He studied history and philosophy in Zagreb, where he also obtained an MA focusing on the National Bloc in Istria 1920-1921, with a PhD to follow, with a thesis on Fascist Movement in Istria 1919-1929. A professor of history at the University of Rijeka. Although the scope of his work is broad and refers to contemporary European, global, Croatian and military historical studies, he is a committed researcher of Istrian heritage (Istra: kratka povijest dugoga trajanja: od prvih naseobina do danas), in particular of Pula’s (Povijest Pule: deterministički kaos i jahači apokalipse).
