Sinan Gudžević
Sinan Gudžević was born in 1953 in Grab, on the mount of Golija, between Novi Pazar, Sjenica and Ivanjica, Serbia. He studied electrical engineering and philology in Belgrade, Pisa and Munich. A translator of poetry and prose from Latin, Ancient Greek, German, Italian, Russian and Portuguese. He modestly adds, “And I write,” and when he was asked to write something about himself, he compressed it into a miniature: “Born on a mountain, living in the plains. Almost everyone thinks of me as a highlander, and I spent three quarters of my life in large cities: Belgrade, Rome, Berlin, Naples and Rio de Janeiro. Now I live my life in Zagreb, which is not the highest, but I could have also ended up lower, especially when altitude is concerned.”
