Leonida Kovač was born in 1962 in Split, Croatia. She graduated in art history and archaeology in Zagreb. An art historian and theoretician, curator and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. She curated around 30 original exhibition projects and acted as the commissioner and curator of the Croatian Pavilion at the Contemporary Art Biennale in São Paulo (2002) and the Venice Biennale (2003).
